The Kyoto Local Meteorological Office and Kyoto Prefecture issued a 'Level 4 flood danger alert' at 5:10 a.m. for the Kamo and Takano rivers in the Yodo River system, with similar warnings for the Neyagawa basin in Osaka. Residents were urged to stay on maximum alert for flooding. The alerts came amid heavy rain from a stalled seasonal rain front.

According to Nankai Electric Railway, based in Namba, Osaka, the Koya Line has suspended service between Namba and Sakaihigashi stations, and between Shiomibashi and Kishinosato-Tamade stations, after tracks near Sumiyoshihigashi Station in Osaka were flooded by heavy rain. There is no estimate for when service will resume. The disruption is part of widespread transport impacts from the heavy rain.

With Typhoons No. 7 and No. 8 approaching, Level 4 danger alerts have been issued in parts of the Kinki, Chugoku-Shikoku and Kyushu regions due to a stalled seasonal rain front, requiring maximum caution for landslides, river flooding and inundation of low-lying areas. Typhoon No. 7 is drawing quite close to Okinawa, bringing the risk of violent winds and a linear rain band before noon. Through the 27th, eastern Japan may also see significantly increased rainfall as the typhoons approach.
